Shopping Terms 

 

  • All the goods offered for sale by Model Rail Books are second-hand unless
    otherwise stated.
  • We will always advise you of any damage so that you are aware of this
    before you order. This information will be included with the description of the item. If you require more information regarding the condition of any item for sale please contact us.
  • All items for sale on this site are priced up as single lots. If a lot includes more than one item then the price will be for the three. If you see something that is part of a multiple lot that you would like to split from the lot then please contact us.
  • Making a purchase is very easy. You browse the catalogue and when you find items that you wish to purchase you simply add the items to your shopping basket.
  • When you wish to checkout you simply make the payment or declare the form of payment in accordance with the instructions given. Payments are made either through the secure servers of Nochex or Paypal or by post.
  • Alternatively if you wish to place your order by phone then please contact us indicating which goods you wish to purchase. Please leave a message and a telephone number if your call is answered by the message service and we will get back to you. Firm orders will not be accepted on the message answering service.
  • We do not accept orders by email and would request that orders using electronic channels are placed through the shopping basket.
  • The goods delivered remain our property until full payment has been received.
  • All products, services and prices shown in our online shop do not constitute legally binding offers. Once you enter all of the personal contact information and click the "order now" button on the order confirmation page, the order will be considered legally binding. You will receive order confirmation immediately after the order process hs been completed. The sales agreement is valid as soon as the delivery confirmation has been sent. If you do not receive order confirmation or the delivery within two (2) weeks, you are legally no longer bound to your purchase.

     

    Pricing/Conditions

     

  • All prices at Model Rail Books are in Pounds Sterling.
  • Model Rail Books ship Worldwide.
  • All orders must be prepaid in Pounds Sterling.
  • If payment is made through the secure shopping basket checkout using the Paypal option then payment can be by MasterCard, Visa, Switch, Delta or Solo. If you wish to post a payment then payment can be made by cheque, postal order or cash.
  • Cash must be sent by registered post to safeguard both Model Rail Books and the purchaser.
  • Orders placed where a payment is to be posted will be held for seven days to permit time for the payment to arrive in the post. This can be extended by mutual agreement.
  • We will only accept cheques drawn from a UK bank or a bankers draft in £ sterling
  • Cheque payments in excess of £20 may require 5 working days to clear at the discretion of Model Rail Books taking into account customer history. Please allow for this when waiting for your order to be shipped to you.
  • All orders are normally dispatched within 1 to 3 working days of the receipt of a valid payment or a cleared payment, although this may be extended at various times during the year or during busy periods. You will receive an email to confirm that your order has ben dispatched.
  • We want you to be completely satisfied with all the goods that you order from Model Rail Books and use our best endeavours to describe goods accurately and fairly. If the goods that you receive are not acceptable for any reason then contact us to advise us of the issues and return the items within 14 days for a refund or exchange - it's your choice.  You will be responsible for all carriage charges. Please include a note with the package with your name and address on and a reminder of the issue..
  • We aim to please, if for any reason you are unhappy with any part of our service, please let us know
  • Your statutory rights are unaffected and UK law is the applicable law.
  • Trademarks and names of product ranges are used to help customers identify with them. Trade marks, copyrights and logos used on this site are the property of their owners.

  • Shipping/Handling

     

  • All item prices listed exclude shipping/handling.
  • Shipping/handling fees are calculated by the number of items purchased and this will automatically be calculated for you. For UK customers shipping is £1 for the first item and an additional 60p for each extra item added to the basket.
  • If your shipping address is outside the UK then you should select an appropriate shipping tariff when you view your shopping basket.
  • We have the right to make partial deliveries, as long as they do not cause unreasonable hardship for the customer. When partial shipments are made, additional shipping costs will apply only when prior agreement has been reached.
